S1·E1The Mute Boy
Huo Linglong, the eldest young lady of Linglong Manor, disguises herself as a man and arrives at an inn, where she witnesses a clash between the Tang Sect and Shengyun Manor. During the chaos, Linglong unexpectedly rescues a mute boy who had been traveling with Shengyun Manor's Third Chief. Later, she encounters a mysterious man in black named Zhan Rifei. Using the alias Huo Xiaodi, she hides her true identity, but both of them sense that the other is not who they claim to be.

Huo Linglong discovers Zhan Rifei has been hit by the Shangqing Sect's Great Compassionate Palm. Since the Shangqing Sect only punishes evil people, Huo Linglong misunderstands Zhan Rifei and leaves in anger.
S1·E3Chang Hong BI
Huo Linglong clears up the misunderstanding with Zhan Zhao, and the two set off for the capital together. However, they are intercepted by Grandma Han Shui. Unable to defeat her, Chang Hong Bi agrees to return to Hanshui Palace with Grandma Han Shui in exchange for sparing their lives.

Zhan Zhao disguises himself as Shen Zhongyuan to enter Zhongxiao Courtyard. Meanwhile, Bai Yutang enters through the underground tunnel in the backyard of the embroidery workshop. Then they meet up in the underground palace.

Zhan Zhao, who feels guilty, barges into the magistrate's office of Yicheng alone. He manages to rescue the magistrate of Yicheng before He Bo's men can take him out. He becomes the last witness of the Liu Hongyi case.

Bai Yutang invites Zhan Zhao to be Yaksha together with him so that they can punish evil-doers. Zhan Zhao tells him that countering violence with violence isn't an act of justice. Bai Yu Tang falls out with him.

Ding Zhaohui mentions the medicinal smell coming from the courtyard and decides to remain at the Jing Residence to gather more clues. Zhan Zhao resolves to have Huo Linglong handle the Nightmare Sky antidote while simultaneously rescuing Yu Lian so she can testify against Jing Yiming.

Bai Yutang and Zhan Zhao go along with the situation and put on an act of the "cat and rat" turning against each other. Unable to find Bai Yutang, Zhi Hua is startled when he suddenly emerges from the ruins.

Zhan Zhao shares a drink with Bai Yutang and reveals the truth about his past. Meanwhile, Ding Yuehua breaks into the prison at night and challenges Jing Yiming to a duel.

Tang Tianhao tells Zhan Zhao and the others that he can't neutralize the Nightmare Sky poison. He only gives them a medicine to suppress it. Bai Yutang suspects that the creator of the poison is someone from the Jin family. The threads involving Si Ming, the Tang Sect, the Jin family, and his brother's wrongful conviction are gradually converging.
S1·E20Hand Over the Antidote
Bai Yutang registers for the Suwen Tournament under the name Jin Xuewen and sets up a diversion by asking Jin Zhenping to meet in the apricot grove. Meanwhile, Zhao Zhi Er and Ming Zhu Er stir up public opinion, pressuring Jin Zhenping to hand over the antidote for Nightmare Sky in front of everyone.

Zhan Zhao deduces that the plague is actually caused by Seven-Day Dream. He suspects that Jin Xuewen was silenced after he found out the truth.

Bai Yutang demands that Fourth Madam tell the truth in court and testify against Tang Ji. He wants her to provide evidence to clear his brother's name. Fourth Madam takes her own life as Jin Zhenping blackmailed her with the jade pendant.
