The River (Season 1)

Beloved wildlife explorer and TV host Emmet Cole vanished somewhere in the Amazon six months ago. His emergency beacon suddenly pings from deep in restricted jungle. That's the only lead his family has.

Wife Tess and estranged son Lincoln, played by Joe Anderson, put together a search crew and set off upstream. A documentary team tags along — cameras rolling the whole time. The series is shot found-footage style, pieced together from onboard recordings, giving each episode the texture of a frantic dispatch rather than polished television. Bruce Greenwood brings real weight to the missing Emmet through flashbacks and recordings left behind on the boat. Katie Featherston from Paranormal Activity joins the cast, sharpening the jittery unease.
