Synopsis
The Curse (2023) is an American dark comedy series you can watch online on iFILM. Created by Nathan Fielder and Benny Safdie for Paramount+ with Showtime, the ten-episode show follows newlyweds Asher and Whitney as they co-host an HGTV-style renovation programme in New Mexico — selling affordable housing and personal branding at the same time.
Then a Pueblo child utters what Asher decides was a curse. The pregnancy stalls. The cameras keep catching the wrong moments. Their producer Dougie — Benny Safdie, visibly running his own agenda — makes everything worse. Emma Stone plays Whitney as someone whose warmth has a slow structural crack running through it. Nathan Fielder's Asher oscillates between paralysis and desperate goodwill, and the gap between the two characters grows wider with every episode.
