Fallen

Fallen (1998) is Gregory Hoblit's supernatural thriller, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Detective John Hobbes watches serial killer Edgar Reese go to the electric chair. Reese walks to his death grinning and humming an old tune, as if death were just an inconvenience.

The execution is over, yet the city is hit by a fresh string of ritual murders that copy a dead man's signature to the letter. Hobbes works the case and realizes the truth too late: the killer jumps from body to body with a single touch. He isn't chasing a maniac but something far older and far smarter. Denzel Washington leads, with John Goodman, Donald Sutherland and a young James Gandolfini.

This is that rare procedural where a serial-killer hunt turns into a duel with a demon named Azazel, and the detective stops knowing which of the people around him he can still trust.
