Synopsis

Rachel Getting Married (2008) is Jonathan Demme's family drama you can watch online on iFILM. Kym leaves rehab for the weekend to attend her sister's wedding.

Kym (Anne Hathaway) is carrying ten years of addiction and clinics behind her. The house is packed with guests, musicians and pre-wedding chaos, but her arrival stirs up everything the family would rather leave unsaid. Her older sister Rachel (Rosemarie DeWitt) doesn't want her big day swallowed by yet another crisis about Kym. Their father chooses his words carefully. And somewhere between the toasts and the dancing, an old tragedy resurfaces — one Kym has long been blamed for.

Demme shoots it almost like a documentary: handheld camera, live music played right in the room, the feeling that you're a guest at this wedding. Hathaway earned an Academy Award nomination for the role, and a young Sebastian Stan turns up in a small part. Quiet, raw, deeply human filmmaking.
