Oleg Penkovsky needed a contact who could travel in and out of the USSR without attracting attention. A middle-aged English businessman with a briefcase and routine trade calls fit perfectly. What Wynne agreed to as a short-term favour turned into regular trips, microfilmed documents, and a growing awareness that both men were in far deeper than either had planned. Rachel Brosnahan and Jessie Buckley play the women in London and Moscow who wait for news and receive very little.
