Emma Swan is a bail bonds agent who never believed in happy endings. Then a ten-year-old boy shows up at her door: he's the son she gave up for adoption, and he's certain that their destination — Storybrooke, Maine — is a prison for Snow White, Cinderella, Rumpelstiltskin and every other character from the storybooks. The Evil Queen, Regina Mills (Lana Parrilla), cast the curse and now runs the town as its mayor. Robert Carlyle plays the cunning Mr. Gold — Rumpelstiltskin with a limp and a pawnshop — and Colin O'Donoghue brings Captain Hook into the modern world in leather and eyeliner. Breaking the spell means Emma has to accept who she really is.
