Resistance

Resistance (2020) is a WWII biographical drama directed by Jonathan Jakubowicz that you can watch online on iFILM. It reconstructs a chapter of Marcel Marceau's life almost no one knows: before he became the twentieth century's most celebrated mime, he was smuggling Jewish orphans out of Nazi-occupied France.

Late 1942. Twenty-year-old Marcel (Jesse Eisenberg) falls in with a Resistance cell partly to impress a woman — Emma, played by Clémence Poésy — and quickly finds himself responsible for moving hundreds of children across mountain passes into Switzerland ahead of SS patrols. Matthias Schweighöfer plays the German officer hunting them; Ed Harris appears as General Patton; a very young Bella Ramsey takes one of the key children's roles.

Marceau reportedly used mime to keep the children quiet and calm during the most dangerous stretches of the crossing — the detail that connects the story to the artist he later became.
