Synopsis
Arlington Road (1999) is Mark Pellington's paranoid thriller, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Jeff Bridges and Tim Robbins headline a slow-burn game of suspicion in the suburbs.
Michael Faraday teaches a university course on American terrorism and raises his young son alone after his wife died in a botched FBI raid. When the friendly Lang family moves in across the street, the grieving professor starts to feel human again. Then small cracks appear in Oliver Lang's stories, the kind of inconsistencies Michael is trained to notice. The harder he digs, the more certain he grows that his neighbor is not who he claims to be. The catch is that no one believes him, and his own paranoia is starting to look like a breakdown.
Joan Cusack plays the wife next door with a warmth that turns chilling. The film's ending sparked heavy debate and remains one of the most talked-about twists of the decade. Stream Arlington Road (1999) online on iFILM.
