Synopsis

Kevin Costner plays Butch as a man you end up rooting for despite yourself. The kid, raised under the strict rules of a Jehovah's Witness household, tastes cotton candy for the first time, rides shotgun in a stolen car, and learns that fear is allowed. An odd, almost fatherly bond grows between them. On the chase sits Texas Ranger Red Garnett, played by Eastwood himself with no swagger at all, plus criminologist Sally Gerber (Laura Dern), and the closer the hunt gets, the fewer easy answers it offers.
