War of the Worlds (2019) is a science-fiction drama series you can watch online on iFILM. Astronomers pick up a signal from a neighbouring galaxy, the first hard proof of alien intelligence. Days later, almost everyone on Earth is dead.

This is a loose European reworking of the H. G. Wells novel, dragged into the present and scattered across the emptied streets of England and France. The show cares less about the invasion itself than about what survives it: small, broken clusters of people wandering a depopulated world while an unseen enemy hunts the living one by one. A neuroscientist played by Gabriel Byrne, his colleague (Elizabeth McGovern) and young Emily (Daisy Edgar-Jones), a blind girl who somehow senses the threat before anyone can see it, anchor storylines that drift apart across borders and slowly pull back together.
