Geostorm

Geostorm (2017) is a sci-fi disaster action film you can watch online on iFILM. A web of climate-control satellites built to tame the weather suddenly turns on the planet it was meant to protect.

Gerard Butler plays engineer Jake Lawson, the designer of the orbital system nicknamed Dutch Boy, pushed out of his own project years ago. When the satellites start malfunctioning and hurling lethal weather at cities around the globe, he is sent back up to the station to find the fault. Down on Earth his brother Max (Jim Sturgess) chases a conspiracy that reaches into the White House. Hours remain before a full geostorm scrubs the planet clean.

This is the directing debut of Dean Devlin, co-writer of Independence Day and Godzilla. Ed Harris, Andy Garcia and Abbie Cornish round out the cast, while an ice tornado, a tidal wave swallowing Dubai and a city flash-freezing in real time deliver the spectacle.
