Synopsis
The Untouchables (1987) is Brian De Palma's crime thriller, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Chicago, the early thirties. Bootleg liquor runs the city, and one man runs the liquor while staying just out of reach.
Treasury agent Eliot Ness (Kevin Costner) sets out to bring down Al Capone and learns fast that playing clean and alone will get him killed. So he builds a tiny crew that can't be bought: a weathered Irish beat cop, Jim Malone (Sean Connery), a sharpshooting academy rookie (Andy Garcia) and a quiet accountant. Robert De Niro's Capone settles disputes with a baseball bat at his own banquet table. The screenplay came from playwright David Mamet.
De Palma stages a western in Prohibition clothing, and the train-station shootout built around a runaway baby carriage is a famous nod to Battleship Potemkin. Ennio Morricone wrote the score, Connery took home an Oscar. Stream The Untouchables (1987) online on iFILM.
