About

Synopsis

Red Heat (1988) is a hard-edged action crime film you can watch online on iFILM. Walter Hill directs Arnold Schwarzenegger as Soviet police captain Ivan Danko, sent from Moscow to Chicago after a Georgian drug lord.

The target is Viktor Rosta, who fled the USSR, set up a cocaine pipeline in the States, and gunned down Danko's partner. Chicago saddles the stone-faced Russian with a local detective, Art Ridzik — loud, sloppy, and allergic to rules. James Belushi plays him as the exact opposite of Schwarzenegger's granite calm. The two cops can barely stand each other, but they share one criminal, so the partnership sticks whether they like it or not.

Hill builds a tough buddy picture out of Cold War friction and gritty Chicago streets, complete with a wrecked-bus chase and plenty of deadpan jokes. Watch for Laurence Fishburne and Peter Boyle in supporting roles. Stream Red Heat (1988) online on iFILM.
