Suburbia

Suburbia (1984) is an American drama directed by Penelope Spheeris that you can watch online on iFILM. Running 94 minutes, it follows a group of teenage runaways who set up an unofficial home in an abandoned house on the outskirts of Los Angeles.

Evan leaves his family not for adventure but out of sheer absence of anything to stay for. He falls in with a loose crew of throwaways — kids with no adults looking for them. They build their own rules, listen to punk music, and cling to each other with the intensity of people who have nowhere else to go. It holds together until it doesn't.

Spheeris shot with an almost documentary eye, casting non-actors alongside her leads, including Flea — years before he became the bassist of Red Hot Chili Peppers.
