Lifeforce

Lifeforce (1985) is Tobe Hooper's sci-fi horror you can watch online on iFILM. A British-American shuttle reaches Halley's Comet and discovers a derelict ship hiding three naked humanoid bodies in glass cases. The crew brings them aboard. Big mistake.

Back on Earth, the visitors turn out to be vampires who drain raw life energy instead of blood. Their victims wither, then rise two hours later as desiccated husks craving the same thing. London starts collapsing block by block. Carlsen (Steve Railsback), the shuttle's sole survivor, and Colonel Caine (Peter Firth) chase the nameless Space Girl (Mathilda May), whose beauty pulls men straight toward death. A young Patrick Stewart shows up as an asylum director caught in the spread.

Directed by Tobe Hooper of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, the film adapts Colin Wilson's novel The Space Vampires. It carried a 25 million dollar budget, John Dykstra's effects work, and a full apocalyptic scope. It flopped on release and grew into a cult favorite of 80s science fiction.
