Synopsis
Footloose (1984) is a music-driven drama from director Herbert Ross that you can watch online on iFILM. Chicago teenager Ren McCormack moves to a quiet town out west, only to learn that loud music and dancing have been banned there.
Kevin Bacon plays Ren in the role that turned him into a star. John Lithgow is Reverend Shaw Moore, the preacher who clamped down on the town after a car crash killed several local kids. Ren pushes back. He falls for the minister's rebellious daughter Ariel, teams up with his buddy Willard, and sets out to do something the town council forbade: throw a senior prom. Dianne Wiest, Chris Penn, and a young Sarah Jessica Parker round out the cast.
The film was a 1984 phenomenon, carried in large part by its soundtrack. Kenny Loggins' title track and "Let's Hear It for the Boy" played everywhere that year. Bacon's warehouse dance, where he works out his anger across an empty mill, became one of the decade's most copied scenes. Stream Footloose (1984) online on iFILM.
