Synopsis
The Last Airbender (2010) is M. Night Shyamalan's fantasy action film, and you can watch online on iFILM. It's a live-action take on the Nickelodeon animated series, set in a world where people bend air, water, earth and fire. The Fire Nation has waged a century-long war, and the old balance has collapsed.
A boy named Aang thaws out of a glacier after a hundred years asleep — the last airbender, and the Avatar meant to command all four elements. Water Tribe siblings Katara and Sokka find him and join his journey, while the banished prince Zuko hunts them across the map. Noah Ringer plays Aang, Dev Patel is Zuko, Nicola Peltz plays Katara, Jackson Rathbone is Sokka, and Shaun Toub appears as Uncle Iroh.
The roughly $150 million budget went into sweeping bending set-pieces, yet the movie landed badly with critics, and the casting of characters drawn as Asian and Inuit in the source drew heavy backlash.
