Synopsis

A thousand years after humanity abandoned a poisoned Earth, people live on a planet called Nova Prime. Decorated general Cypher Raige takes his thirteen-year-old son Kitai on a flight, hoping to finally close the distance between them. An asteroid storm tears the ship apart, and they crash on the one place they should never land — a feral, quarantined Earth. Cypher is badly hurt and can't move. Kitai must cross a hostile wilderness alone to reach the rescue beacon, hunted by creatures bred to kill humans.
The whole film runs on one idea: fear is a choice. James Newton Howard wrote the uneasy score. It's a stripped-down survival story for two actors, where all that links father and son is a voice in an earpiece. Stream After Earth (2013) online on iFILM.
