Synopsis
The Swan Princess (1994) is Richard Rich's animated musical you can watch online on iFILM. A sorcerer turns Princess Odette into a swan, and only a vow of everlasting love can break the spell.
Prince Derek and Odette have known each other since childhood, promised to wed by their hopeful parents. But when Derek finally speaks his heart, the words come out so clumsily that she leaves in anger. On the road her family is ambushed by the sorcerer Rothbart, voiced by Jack Palance, who carries Odette off to an enchanted lake where daylight turns her back into a swan. Three companions stand by her: the fussy frog Jean-Bob, the slow turtle Speed and a pelican named Puffin, while Derek races to find her before Rothbart's trickery splits them apart for good.
Made by Rich's studio after he left Disney, the film draws on Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake. It later spawned a long run of sequels, yet this first chapter stays the warmest of them. Stream The Swan Princess (1994) online on iFILM.
