Synopsis

Bronson (2009) is Nicolas Winding Refn's crime drama you can watch online on iFILM. Tom Hardy plays a man who turns a prison cell into a stage built for an audience of one.

A polite middle-class kid named Michael Peterson draws seven years for robbing a post office. He never makes it back out: brawls with guards and bursts of rage stretch the sentence across decades, most of them spent locked away alone. Somewhere in there he invents a second self, borrowing the boxing name Charles Bronson, and the British press crowns him the country's most violent inmate. The film refuses to judge him or to make him a monster. Instead it hands him a microphone and lets him perform.

Refn stages the biography like a one-man cabaret: Bronson steps onto a bare stage in greasepaint, narrates his own legend to a roaring crowd, and the cell-block beatings play out to opera and pop. The part launched Tom Hardy a couple of years before Warrior and Bane. Stream Bronson (2009) online on iFILM.
