The Man from Laramie

The Man from Laramie (1955) is a classic American western you can watch online on iFILM. Director Anthony Mann teams up with James Stewart for one of their most tightly wound collaborations: Stewart plays Will Lockhart, a freighter who rides into a remote New Mexico town with a hidden agenda — tracing the rifles that an Apache raiding party used to kill his brother.

From the moment Lockhart arrives, he crosses the wrong people. Alec Waggoman runs the valley like a private kingdom; his volatile son Dave treats the newcomer as a threat; and someone in the family has a reason to keep the gun-running quiet. The deeper Lockhart digs, the more tangled the web — until a murder charge he didn't earn puts him on the wrong side of the law. Arthur Kennedy and Donald Crisp round out a sharp supporting cast.
