Synopsis

Deliverance (1972) is John Boorman's survival thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Four city men from Atlanta paddle into the Georgia backwoods to run the Cahulawassee River before a new dam drowns the valley for good.

Lewis Medlock (Burt Reynolds) wants one last wild weekend on the water. He drags along Ed (Jon Voight), heavyset Bobby (Ned Beatty) and Drew (Ronny Cox), all expecting scenery and a story to tell back home. Deep in the Appalachian hills they cross paths with locals who have other ideas, and a casual canoe trip turns into a fight to stay alive. The only way out is downstream, through the rapids and everything that hides along the banks.

Adapted by poet James Dickey from his own novel, the film earned three Academy Award nominations and made its dueling-banjos scene part of film history. Boorman shot the river runs with the actors doing their own paddling, and the tension never lets up. Stream Deliverance (1972) online on iFILM.
