Synopsis
Clash of the Titans (1981) is Desmond Davis's fantasy adventure you can watch online on iFILM. Perseus, mortal son of Zeus, sets out to save the woman he loves and face the monsters of Greek myth.
The gods of Olympus treat mortals like pieces on a board. A vengeful goddess curses a kingdom, and Perseus is handed a near-impossible string of tasks: tame the winged horse Pegasus, claim the head of the Gorgon Medusa whose gaze turns men to stone, and stand against the sea beast known as the Kraken. A clockwork owl named Bubo and a few fickle gifts from the gods help him along, but mostly he's on his own.
Harry Hamlin plays Perseus, with Laurence Olivier as Zeus and Maggie Smith up on Olympus. The real star, though, is Ray Harryhausen's stop-motion animation: his Medusa and skeleton warriors earned a place in effects history long before computers took over.
