Synopsis

The Borrowers (1997) is a British-American family adventure comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Director Peter Hewitt adapted Mary Norton's beloved children's book about a tiny family secretly living inside the walls and floorboards of a normal house. The cast includes John Goodman, Jim Broadbent, Hugh Laurie, and a young Tom Felton.

The Clock family — four inches tall, borrowing buttons, pins and breadcrumbs to survive — have kept their existence hidden for generations. That arrangement collapses when greedy lawyer Ocious Potter, played by Goodman, sets out to demolish the house and build apartments. For the first time, the Clocks must venture into the human world above, a place where a cat is a catastrophe and a kitchen tile is a continent.

Made by Working Title Films, the picture balances sharp British humour with inventive practical effects to bring the miniature world to life. It holds up as a fun watch for kids and adults alike. Stream The Borrowers (1997) online on iFILM.
