At the university's animal clinic, the gang meets Wittgenstein, an aging computer with a virus problem, a helpful mouse, and a whole ward of animals: a rat named Ratso, a monkey called Sebastian, and a cat named Maisie. When they learn that the animals are about to be shipped to a research lab, the appliances do what they do — stick together and figure it out.

Released direct-to-video, this second sequel is smaller in scope than the original 1987 film, but it keeps the same warmth. The animal welfare angle gives it a little more weight than a typical follow-up, and the new characters hold their own alongside the familiar ones.
