Synopsis
Meltdown: Three Mile Island (2022) is a Netflix documentary series you can watch online on iFILM. Across four episodes it pieces together what nearly went wrong at a Pennsylvania nuclear plant one morning in the spring of 1979, when a reactor came closer to disaster than the public was ever told.
The film's anchor is cleanup engineer Rick Parks, who spotted dangerous shortcuts during the post-accident work and blew the whistle on his own employer. Around him are neighbors, activists and plant workers whose accounts build a picture of a near-catastrophe and the cover-up that followed. Archival footage, declassified paperwork and on-camera testimony cut together without any hand-wringing narration.
Less a story about radiation than about a company guarding itself instead of the families next door. It clicks with anyone who liked Chernobyl but wants the real witnesses rather than a dramatized cast. Stream Meltdown: Three Mile Island online on iFILM.
