I, Madman (1989) — watch online on iFILM, the horror-thriller directed by Tibor Takács. Virginia (Jenny Wright) sells books and reads pulp horror novels from the 1950s on her breaks. The villain of her current read is a disfigured obsessive who slices off faces to build himself a new one — a detail she finds unsettling in the way good pulp is supposed to be.

Then the murders start happening outside the shop. The kills match the ones in the book, page by page. Takács treats the setup seriously, building the unease around the question of whether fiction can stalk you back. The practical creature effects, handled by Randall William Cook, still hold up.
