Synopsis
Kinds of Kindness (2024) is Yorgos Lanthimos's pitch-black comic drama, and you can watch online on iFILM. It unfolds as a triptych: three separate stories where the same actors return as entirely different people.
In the first tale, an office worker has spent years living by his boss's instructions, until the boss asks him to stage a fatal car crash. In the second, a cop greets the wife who vanished on a sea expedition and slowly convinces himself she came back as someone else. In the third, members of a salt-water cult hunt for a woman who can raise the dead. Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe and Margaret Qualley reinvent themselves in each chapter.
Right after Poor Things, Lanthimos regrouped his cast and turned toward a cold fable about power, obedience and love that looks a lot like control.
