Synopsis
Tokyo! (TOKYO!, 2008) is an anthology of three short films — watch online on iFILM. Michel Gondry, Leos Carax, and Bong Joon-ho each directed one story set in the same city. The city stays constant; the logic of each tale does not.
Gondry follows a young couple who arrive in Tokyo chasing ambition: the boyfriend wants to make films, the girlfriend Hiroko is still searching, until an unexpected metamorphosis gives her an answer. Carax sends Denis Lavant underground as Merde, a sewer creature who surfaces to hurl grenades at pedestrians and winds up facing a courtroom. Bong Joon-ho closes the anthology with a man who has not left his apartment in eleven years — until a pizza delivery changes everything.
