The Secret of Moonacre

Dakota Blue Richards plays Maria, who quickly learns she is the last Moon Princess — and that a five-thousand-year-old feud between her family and the dark De Noir clan is running out of time. Tim Curry plays the brooding villain, Ioan Gruffudd the eccentric Sir Benjamin. The film adapts Elizabeth Goudge's 1946 novel The Little White Horse, long cited by J.K. Rowling as a childhood favourite. Atmospheric sets, a curse with a countdown, and a heroine who has to choose between pride and the sea swallowing everything she loves.
