Dangal

Dangal (2016) is an Indian sports drama starring Aamir Khan that you can watch online on iFILM. A former wrestler who dreamed of a son to carry his medals ends up raising two daughters — and puts them on the mat instead.

Set in a village in Haryana, the story follows Mahavir Singh Phogat as he turns Geeta and Babita into competitive wrestlers. He wakes them at dawn, rewrites their diet, cuts their hair short and sends them to grapple with the local boys. The whole village mocks him for it. The girls resent the brutal training at first, until they grasp what it actually buys them: a future they choose, rather than an arranged marriage at sixteen. Director Nitesh Tiwari built the film around the real Phogat family, whose daughters went on to win medals abroad.

For the part, Aamir Khan packed on close to sixty pounds and then shed it all, playing both the heavy older father and the lean coach. Dangal became the highest-grossing Indian film of its era and pulled enormous crowds far beyond India, especially in China. Stream Dangal (2016) online on iFILM.
