Robin Hood (2010) is Ridley Scott's historical adventure drama, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Forget the green tights and the merry songs. This is the story of how the outlaw legend was actually born.

Archer Robin Longstride (Russell Crowe) marches home from the Crusades with the army of Richard the Lionheart. On the road he promises a dying knight he will carry the man's sword back to Nottingham, and ends up wearing a borrowed name. That brings him to the widowed Marion (Cate Blanchett), to the hall of the blind lord Walter (Max von Sydow), and into the path of the schemer Godfrey (Mark Strong), who is paving the way for a French invasion. Oscar Isaac plays the petulant Prince John, with William Hurt rounding out the court.

Scott shoots it less like a fairy tale than a twelfth-century war chronicle: mud, siege engines, and barons demanding a charter of liberties.
