Synopsis

Moses grew up inside the pharaoh's court, close as kin to the heir Ramses. Christian Bale plays him not as a serene prophet but as a soldier who commands Egypt's army before he ever learns the truth about his own birth. Cast out of the palace, he comes back to lead hundreds of thousands of slaves out from under Ramses (Joel Edgerton). What follows is ten plagues tearing through Egypt and a sea pulled apart on the kind of scale Scott has never been shy about. The cast also includes Ben Kingsley, Sigourney Weaver, John Turturro and Aaron Paul.
Scott retells the Old Testament account as a sweeping battle picture: armies of thousands, ruined cities, sandstorms that swallow the frame.
