Synopsis

Prohibition-era Chicago: bootlegger Mick Nich tips off the police on his own gang and flees to Odessa, where he sets up a moonshine operation. The mob sends their top hitman, Johnny Pollack, to track him down. Pollack arrives, takes a bullet to the head, and wakes up with no memory — surrounded by cheerful locals who conclude he must be a butterfly collector. The target is still in the city; the hitman has forgotten his own name.
