The Mist (Season 1)
Fear. Human. Nature.
Synopsis
The Mist (2017) is a supernatural horror series, loosely drawn from Stephen King's novella, that you can watch online on iFILM. A thick white fog settles over the town of Bridgeville, Maine. Nobody walks back out of it the same.
At first it reads as odd weather. Then people start vanishing into the haze, and the few who stumble free are shaking, muttering about shapes and sounds behind the wall of mist. Townsfolk barricade wherever they can reach: some in the supermarket, some in the church, some in the hospital. That's when the real trouble shows up. The thing outside is terrifying, but locked in with frightened neighbors, their suspicion and old grudges, is worse. King was never really writing about monsters; he was writing about what fear does to people, and the show pulls that same thread.
Unlike Frank Darabont's 2007 film, this Spike version stretches the story across a ten-episode season and adds the Copeland family, fractured by a brutal crime. The cast includes Morgan Spector, Alyssa Sutherland and Frances Conroy. It's a slow-burn scare for viewers who like dread that grows from the inside. Stream The Mist (2017) online on iFILM.
