Synopsis
Species II (1998) is a science-fiction horror with action edges that you can watch online on iFILM. This sequel picks the alien-DNA thread back up: a crew comes home from Mars, and something that must never be allowed to breed rides back with the samples.
Mission commander Patrick Ross, played by Justin Lazard, changes fast after the flight. An alien form wakes inside him, driven by a single urge to reproduce, and the women who carry his offspring die in gruesome ways. To halt the spread, scientist Laura Baker, played by Marg Helgenberger, and hired gun Press Lennox, played by Michael Madsen, release Eve from the lab, a more controllable clone of the same creature. The trouble is that Eve hears the same call and strains to reach Ross.
Peter Medak directed the follow-up, with Natasha Henstridge back as the predatory alien. Creature design again came from H.R. Giger, the artist behind Alien, which is where the film gets its signature biomechanical menace. Stream Species II (1998) online on iFILM.
