Rio

Rio (2011) is an adventure comedy animation you can watch online on iFILM. Director Carlos Saldanha, a Rio de Janeiro native, sends a pampered pet bird halfway across the world to his own home city at carnival time.

A blue macaw named Blu has lived in Minnesota with his owner Linda since he was a hatchling and never learned to fly. Then word arrives that he may be the last male of his kind, and the only female, a fierce bird called Jewel, lives in Brazil. Linda flies him down to meet her, but smugglers snatch the pair. Chained together, the nervous Blu and the headstrong Jewel scramble through crowded streets and jungle while a vicious cockatoo named Nigel hunts them down.

Jesse Eisenberg and Anne Hathaway voice the leads, backed by Jamie Foxx, will.i.am and George Lopez. Blue Sky Studios fills the screen with samba, color and carnival, and the soundtrack earned an Oscar nomination for the song "Real in Rio." Easy, bright fun for the whole family.
