Synopsis
Jojo Rabbit (2019) is Taika Waititi's anti-hate satire you can watch online on iFILM. Late in World War II, ten-year-old Jojo wants nothing more than to be a perfect little Nazi.
He just isn't built for it. At a youth camp he can't bring himself to kill a rabbit, and the nickname sticks. To cope, he leans on an imaginary friend: a buffoonish Adolf Hitler, played by Waititi himself, who hands out terrible advice between pep talks. Then Jojo discovers a girl hidden behind a wall in his own house. Scarlett Johansson plays his mother, Thomasin McKenzie the Jewish teenager Elsa, and Sam Rockwell a washed-up captain running the camp.
Waititi pulls off a strange balance, mocking fanaticism through a child's daydreams and then twisting the knife when you least expect it. The film won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. Stream Jojo Rabbit (2019) online on iFILM.
