An ancient stone turns up in the museum's collection. It grants any wish, then quietly takes something precious in return. Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) walks back into Diana's life, mousy gemologist Barbara Minerva (Kristen Wiig) trades her shyness for power and teeth, and failing oil tycoon Maxwell Lord (Pedro Pascal) plans to bend the whole world around the artifact. Gal Gadot suits up again, with Robin Wright and Connie Nielsen returning as the Amazons of Themyscira.

A sequel to the 2017 smash, the film trades World War I trenches for shopping malls, aerobics and the era's worship of more, more, more. The opening Amazon games on Themyscira play like a short film of their own. At two and a half hours, it leans hard into big, brash eighties spectacle.
