It's the third year of a five-year mission, and the Enterprise crew is starting to feel the drag of deep space. A routine stop at the Yorktown starbase turns into an ambush: a swarm of alien ships tears the Enterprise apart and scatters the survivors across a hostile world. Kirk, Spock, McCoy and the rest are split up, stranded without a ship, hunted by a warrior named Krall who carries a grudge against the Federation. Chris Pine returns as Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock, alongside Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, John Cho, Anton Yelchin and Idris Elba buried under prosthetics.
