About

Synopsis

Honey, I Shrunk the Kids (1989) is a Disney sci-fi family comedy you can watch online on iFILM. It marked the directing debut of Joe Johnston, and it built its whole adventure around one accident: an inventor's homemade machine zaps four teenagers down to the size of ants.

Rick Moranis plays Wayne Szalinski, the scatterbrained scientist who has no idea his kids and the neighbor's boys are caught in the beam. Swept out with the trash, the tiny crew lands in the backyard, where an ordinary lawn turns into a towering jungle. A drop of dew becomes a lake, an ant becomes a ride, and a roaring lawnmower becomes a death trap. They have to cross the entire garden and get noticed before the grown-ups give up the search.

The film kicked off a Disney franchise and was a surprise box-office hit, with macro photography that looked groundbreaking for the late 1980s. Ninety-three minutes of inventive, kid-friendly thrills. Stream Honey, I Shrunk the Kids (1989) online on iFILM.
