Seventeen-year-old Bennie arrives in Buenos Aires to find his older brother Angelo, who fled the family a decade ago, changed his name to Tetro, and wants nothing to do with any of it.

Tetro is writing. He's been writing for years, filling notebooks he keeps hidden. When Bennie finds the unfinished manuscript and reads it, he starts to understand why his brother disappeared — and why their famous conductor father, played by Klaus Maria Brandauer, is a name Tetro refuses to say out loud. Maribel Verdú plays Tetro's partner, caught between two brothers and a family wound that never closed.
