Synopsis
The Booth at the End (2011) is a drama series to watch online on iFILM — and one of the more unusual things American television produced that decade. Every scene takes place in the same diner booth. Creator Christopher Kubasik and director Adam Arkin never leave that table.
A man sits there. People find him — word travels — and they tell him what they want. A sick child healed. A crime solved. Something fixed. He opens his notebook and assigns a task. The task is always something they'd rather not do. A father learns he can save his dying son only by ending another child's life. A detective finds out what crossing the line actually looks like up close. The man doesn't judge, doesn't explain, and doesn't renegotiate. Xander Berkeley plays him with such stillness that every pause lands like a threat.
Written as a philosophical parable where all the tension runs through conversation rather than action. Stream The Booth at the End (2011) online on iFILM.
