Synopsis
Ender's Game (2013) is Gavin Hood's science-fiction action film you can watch online on iFILM. Humanity has barely survived two waves of alien attacks, and now it trains children to fight the next one. The most promising of them is a boy named Andrew "Ender" Wiggin.
Ender is pulled into an orbiting Battle School, where future commanders drill for war through zero-gravity mock battles that never seem to stop. Asa Butterfield plays him as two people at once: a cold tactician and a homesick kid who misses his sister. Watching over him is Colonel Graff, played by Harrison Ford, who pushes the cadet past every limit and never blinks at the cost. The cast also brings in Ben Kingsley with a tattooed face, Viola Davis and Hailee Steinfeld. The higher Ender climbs the rankings, the clearer it gets that none of this is a game.
The story comes from Orson Scott Card's 1985 novel, a book that bounced around studios for decades before it finally reached the screen. The film keeps arguing with itself about the price of winning and whether you can raise a military genius without breaking the child first. Stream Ender's Game (2013) online on iFILM.
