Allegiant

Its officials explain why the old world fell apart: a long war over genetic "purity" split humanity into the pure and the damaged, and Tris's entire city turns out to have been one drawn-out experiment under watch. Bureau director David (Jeff Daniels) talks a smooth game, yet Tris senses the lie underneath. When she learns the men in charge plan a "reset" — wiping the memories of everyone she loves in a single stroke — she has to pick a side fast. The cast also features Miles Teller, Zoë Kravitz, Naomi Watts and Octavia Spencer.

The penultimate film from Veronica Roth's young-adult dystopia swaps cramped faction corridors for a scorched red wasteland and the glass domes of the Bureau.
