North Country

North Country (2005) is Niki Caro's hard-edged drama you can watch online on iFILM. Josey Aimes leaves her husband, packs up her two kids and heads back to a mining town in northern Minnesota. The only steady paycheck in town comes from the iron pits — and the pits belong to men.

Charlize Theron carries Josey through every swallowed insult and every breaking point. There are barely a handful of women on the crew, and the men make sure they feel it: crude jokes, threats, lockers smeared with filth. When silence stops being an option, Josey takes the company to court, standing alone against her coworkers, her own father and a town that wants her gone. Frances McDormand, Woody Harrelson, Sean Bean and a young Jeremy Renner round out the cast.
