Synopsis
A Prairie Home Companion (2006) is a musical comedy by Robert Altman you can watch online on iFILM. The film is built around the final broadcast of a beloved American radio variety show — the theater has just been sold to a Texas corporation that plans to tear it down for a parking lot.
Everyone who ever belonged to the show crowds the backstage. Country sisters Yolanda and Rhonda Johnson, played by Meryl Streep and Lily Tomlin, run through their set like it's any other Saturday. Singing cowboys Dusty and Lefty — Woody Harrelson and John C. Reilly — keep cracking jokes. Kevin Kline's hapless detective Guy Noir patrols the halls as security, while Tommy Lee Jones arrives as the buyer's stone-faced representative. Garrison Keillor hosts the whole affair exactly as he always has.
