About

Synopsis

Babe: Pig in the City (1998) is George Miller's family adventure, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Fresh from his win at the sheepdog trials, the little pig finds himself loose in a huge city.

When Farmer Hoggett is hurt and can no longer work, the bank moves in on the farm. To save the place, Mrs. Hoggett sets off overseas with Babe to earn an appearance fee, only to get stranded in a noisy metropolis crowded with stray and lost animals. In a run-down hotel that secretly takes in pets, Babe meets a troupe of circus chimps, a bad-tempered bull terrier and a pack of homeless dogs, and once again sets about making peace through sheer stubborn kindness. James Cromwell and Magda Szubanski return as the Hoggetts.

Miller, the director of Mad Max, made a sequel that turns surprisingly dark and sad: bright sets sit next to real dread, and the animals carry grown-up troubles. The film earned an Oscar nomination for its song and has since built a reputation as an underrated follow-up. Stream Babe: Pig in the City (1998) online on iFILM.
