Sully

Sully (2016) is a drama directed by Clint Eastwood that you can watch online on iFILM. Tom Hanks plays Captain Chesley Sullenberger, who on the morning of January 15, 2009 guided a crippled Airbus A320 down onto the surface of the Hudson River between Manhattan and New Jersey — and got everyone out alive.

All 155 people aboard survived. The press called Sully a hero. Then the National Transportation Safety Board opened an inquiry, arguing that flight simulators showed he could have made it back to the airport. The film tracks that investigation — the pressure, the self-doubt, the replays — rather than dwelling on the water landing itself. Aaron Eckhart plays first officer Jeff Skiles, Laura Linney is Sully's wife following events from home.
